Wanted: Fabrication Assistant for Sculptor working on large-scale sculptures in stone and steel. Please send resume, contact information for references, and a cover letter containing a brief description of your experience, your address, email and telephone.
The ideal applicant will have experience in:
* Sculpture fabrication or construction work
* MIG Welding
You don't have to have all the above experience, but be competent handling power tools.
The job requires cutting and handling stone, cutting and welding steel on a large scale.
I don’t expect everyone to be knowledgeable in all areas; there will be a learning process on the job.
Must be:
* safety conscious.
* organized
* able to work independently as well as follow directions and work collaboratively.
* punctual and reliable.
Work takes place in the studio however you must be willing to travel a couple of times a year for on site installation that can take up to two weeks.
Work can be 3 to 4 days a week, depending on the applicant's availability
Studio hours are 9 – 5pm, Monday through Friday with a one hour break for lunch. Studio located in Long Island City.
Job Types: Part-time
Salary: $25.00 per hour, on the books, depending on knowledge and experience.
Salary will increase with time as applicant gains familiarity.
