Wolfgang & Hite is looking for an experienced independent contractor who can help with sprayed finishes in our Brooklyn shop.
We are looking for someone comfortable working with professional spray equipment and finishing woodwork, cabinetry, panels, furniture, and architectural millwork. The right person should be able to prep, spray, troubleshoot, and maintain a clean finishing process without needing heavy supervision.
Experience with any of the following is helpful:
HVLP, turbine, air-assisted, or conventional spray systems
Primers, pigmented finishes, clear coats, water-based and solvent-based products
Sanding between coats, surface prep, masking, mixing, filtering, and cleanup
Reading finish schedules and following product data sheets
Producing consistent satin, matte, and painted finishes
Working cleanly in a shared shop environment
This is not a full-time employee position. We are looking for an independent contractor who can come in for specific projects as needed. Ideal fit is someone who already does finishing work, has shop experience, and can bring a professional approach to spray work.
Requirements:
Prior spray finishing experience
Ability to work independently
Careful prep and cleanup habits
Reliable communication and scheduling
Familiarity with shop safety and respirator use
Portfolio, references, or examples of prior finish work preferred
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Compensation: Based on experience and scope of work
Schedule: Project-based / as needed
